Even though hygiene and aesthetics are two completely different things, there's a very fine line between them in modern day life. When discussing objects and people, we still judge a lot of books by their cover. This aesthetic bias causes the bullying of people, spoiling of food and disposing of perfectly fine products in return for newer versions.
Also, this can work the other way around: not everything that appears beautiful on the outside is as beautiful on the inside.
Let's not get all grandma'ish on you by spoiling the fun and telling you that bacteria actually keep you alive. But it is about time this obsession with cosmetics passes its expiration date and gets spoiled.
